6 arrested at Chuadanga border

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested six people while they were going to India illegally through Munsipur border area on Friday night.

The arrestees are: Toiab Ali, 18, son of Rabbani, Nur Mohammad Sardar, 30, son of Mannan Sardar, both residents of Fukra village; Sujon Molla, 37, son of Abul Bashar of Sarakandi village; Rakibul, 30, son of Kashem Molla, Jakir Sheikh, 45, son of Barek Sheikh, both residents of Ramdia village in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district; and Litu Sheikh, 32, son of Razzak Sheikh of Mirzapur village in Sadar upazila of Narail district.

Acting on secret information, a patrol team of BGB launched a drive in unsipur border area around 8.30pm and arrested them, said Lt Col Amir Majid of Chuadanga BGB Battalion-6.

Later, BGB troops handed them over to Damurhuda Model Police Station.

A case was filed in this connection.
