Academics and professional leaders have unanimously observed that the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman could not be deleted from the people’s mind till Bangladesh exists.
Recalling the greatest contribution of Bangabandhu to the independence of Bangladesh, they mentioned the spirit and consciousness of Bangabandhu must be implemented everywhere in the society for materializing his dreams of building golden Bangladesh.
They came up with the observation while addressing the opening session of a 10-day ‘Bangabandhu International Cultural Festival- 2019’ at Green Plaza of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) yesterday afternoon.
Bangabandhu International Cultural Festival-2019 Celebration Council is hosting the festival with patronization of RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton.
In addition to the green plaza’s programs, main educational institutions in the city including Rajshahi University are arranging separate discussions during the festival. Besides, cultural functions are also being held in four mass-gathering spots.
Member of Bangabandhu Memorial Trust Poet Sheikh Hafizur Rahman addressed the opening ceremony as focal person while former governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Dr Atiur Rahman addressed the function as the chief guest with City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton in the chair.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, Professor Hassan Azizul Haque, Language Veterans Advocate Golam Arif Tipu and Abul Hossain, Vice-chancellor of North Bengal International University Prof Abdul Khaleque, Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman and Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police AKM Hafiz Akter also spoke on the occasion.
Poet Sheikh Hafizur Rahman said all people irrespective of political affiliation must follow the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The people should also hear the speeches of Bangabandhu minutely.
