BCL men caught 3 frauds for JU admission test forgery

The administration of Jahangirnagar University (JU) detained 3 members of fraud gang suspected to involve with question paper leak of university admission test under academic year 2018-19.

On Monday (October 8), they were detained from in front of Bangabandhu sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of the university at around 6 am.

The detainees were identified as Sakib Ul Sadat, a 1st year student of Jagannat University (JnU) of chemistry department and Ashik E Atahar Mejbah a 4th year student of Jagannat University (JnU) of Political Science department. The other detainee was Anwar Hossain, driver of microbus.

According to sources, the members of the fraud gang show a temptation to give the first shift question paper for C unit (Arts and Humanities Faculty) in exchange for 5 laks taka to an admission seekers. This student was relative of Mahbubur Rahman Nil, a 42th batch student and also Vice President of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Jahangirnagar University (JU).

Later, addressing as the guardian of the applicants, Mahbubur Rahman Nil singed the agreement with the fraud to collect question paper. Accordingly, two members of the fraud group came to the university on a microbus at night.
At around 6 am, some BCL leaders and activists of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit led by Mahbubur Rahman Nil detained the members of this fraud gang in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall.
Later, BCL activists handed over them to the proctorial body of the university. But they could not arrest the main plotter of the gang.

Sahib Ul sadat and Ashik E Atahar Mejbah acknowledged the matter. But Anwar Hossain said that he did not know about this. He was just a driver of Uber service.
“They will judged by mobile court after the examination today”, said the chief security officer of the university Sudipto Shaheen.
