BNP will stage processions across the country on Saturday to protest the ‘mass arrest’ of general people and opposition leaders and activists in the name of a special drive to curb militancy.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi declared the program at a press briefing at party’s Nayapaltan central office on today.
Dhaka city unit BNP will stage a protest rally at the Institution of Engineers’, Bangladesh at 10am, he said.
The other BNP units, including divisional city and districts, will observe the programme on that day.
Rizvi also urged the High Court to issue a suo moto rule upon the government to stop the ongoing mass arrest and extrajudicial killing.
He claimed that a wholesale arrest is going on across the country in the name of a crackdown on militants in this holy month.
