Mr. Md. Habib Ullah Dawn, Director, FBCCI, and also President, Commonwealth of Independent States-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CIS-BCCI) is leaving for Moscow on October 21, 2018 to attend the meeting of the 1st session of the Russia-Bangladesh “Inter Government Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation” going to be held on October 22-24, 2018 in Moscow, Russia.
He is included in the Bangladesh Official Delegation as a representative of the private sector forum. The Bangladesh Official Delegation led by Kazi Shofiqul Azam, Senior Secretary, Economic Relations Department (ERD) also includes senior officials from different line ministries of the government.
Mentionable that the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh signed the Agreement on the Establishment of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation on March 01, 2017 and it is expected that such Commission will serve as an effective tool to facilitate diversification of bilateral trade, economic and technical ties between the two countries. During the meeting in Moscow both sides will discuss different issues of mutual interest including trade cooperation and development, banking transaction, ICT capacity building, energy and power cooperation, maritime fishing and investment opportunities.
Mr. Md. Habib Ullah Dawn is the President of CIS-BCCI, a registered trade body under Ministry of Commerce that works exclusively for enhancement of trade with Russia and CIS countries as a 3rd front of our export destination and regularly participates in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the biggest international economic event held at St Petersburg annually, under the auspices of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
