Admission tests for the first year honors courses of Jahangirngar University (JU) under academic sessions 2018-19 will begin today (30 September) which will continue till October 10.
University’s Deputy Registrar (Education) Abu Hasan confirmed the matter.
A total of 162 candidates will vie for each seat in this year.
Sources of the Admission Management Committee said, a total of 3,06,258 students will going to vie against 1889 seats under 6 Faculties and 4 Institutes in this year breaking all previous records.
Among the faculties, the largest numbers of applications have been submitted in the Unit D under Biological Science Faculty. A total of 72,953 students applied in this unit.
The schedule of the admission tests are – Unit A on September 30 and October 1, Unit H on Oct 1, Unit D on Oct 2 and 3, Unit I on Oct 3, Unit B on Oct 4, Unit C on Oct 8, Unit C1 and F on Oct 9, and Unit E and G on October 10.
At a meeting with journalists, University’s Proctor Sikder Mohammed Zulkarnine said, ‘156 member of Bangladesh Police and also officers of detective branch and NSI will perform duty during examinations. A mobile court will also set up on the campus to prevent forgery in the tests.”
