A faction of teachers and staffs of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Thursday arranged a candles-lighting programme on the campus protesting illegality and conspiracy against the development of university.

Under the banner of “Jahangirnagar against injustice and for development” over 400 teachers and staffs joined the programme held at university’s Central Shaheed Minar premises around 6:30 pm.

A brief rally was held after candle lighting where speakers said that all the allegations against the university administration and Vice Chancellor were conspiratorial. The administration did not commit any corruption. An evil force is making movement to hinder the university.

Meanwhile, a short documentary was displayed in protest of the conspiracy against the Vice-Chancellor.
