Intellectual Property ordinarily includes patent, design, trademark and copyright. Due to the technological growth and globalization, Intellectual Property (IP) has acquired an international character. This book is particularly addressed to the students, although it may be a useful one for others connected with intellectual property. The IP law is linked with several disciplines including science and commerce in a broader sense. This book can never be an exhaustive one for studying Intellectual Property; rather it may guide those who want to learn IP. This book is comprehensible and enriched with necessary stuffs suitable for law students and researchers.

Among the new insertions, The Trademarks Act, 2009 with amendment in 2015 has been inserted discarding the Trademark Ordinance, 2008. Plus, Copyright Act with amendment in 2005 has taken place. Additionally, number of members of international IP organization has been carefully updated. Of late, computer software, graphical works and other artistic works related to computer and computer generated system are also protected under the Copyright Regime. Geographical Indication is relatively an innovative idea signifying the geographical heritage and sign of a particular geography. The long awaited GI Act, 2013 has been included with relevant commentaries. The appendix annexed to it will perhaps cover all the major national and international laws related to IP in Bangladesh. List of latest cases have added new dimension. After all, the book has attracted new generation readers.
