‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s wife Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa played the most important role in the March 7 speech.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this in the discussion on the historic March 7, held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Thursday noon.
Sheikh Hasina said “My mother played an important role in the March 7 speech. On that day, many leaders had been giving a lot of suggestions since morning. Many had left notes. After lunch, Mom told my Dad, ‘you have to rest a little.’ Then she took him to the bedroom; rest for 15 minutes. At that time the mother said to my Dad, many people suggested lots. Today, what your mind wants, say so. Because your speech will determine the fate of Bengalis. You will express what you think well.”
The application of this speech will never be lost. This speech will last decades after decades, this speech still inspires us. That is why it is the best speech in the world. Those who once banned it, they will gradually go to the dust. ‘
She said, “We have collected the Pakistani intelligence’s report of mass-coup, it will come out in 14 pieces. From this, you will know everything. This book will be enough to know the history of Bangladesh.”
The Prime Minister said, “If you see the non-cooperation movement, nobody in the world could do such non-cooperation movement. Even Yahya Khan could not get cooked by the Bengali cook in Bangladesh. Cooked after getting the phone from number 32. So you can understand how united Bengalis were under the leadership of the Father of the Nation.”
Bangabandhu got only three and a half years after our victory. Then, darkness came down to our lives. Even the broadcasting of March 7 speech also became stopped.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the program while top leaders of the Awami League spoke there.
