Bangladesh National Awami Party-NAP (Muzaffar) President Professor Muzaffar Ahmed would be laid to rest at his village home at Alahbad of Debidwar in Cumilla today.
Muzzaffar Ahmed’s first namaj-e-janaza was held on the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 11:00am on Saturday where state honours was given.
Muzaffar mortal remains were then taken to the Central Shaheed Minar, where leaders of different political parties, leaders of different socio-cultural organisations paid their last respect to the veteran left leader.
The third janaza was held at North gate of Baitul Mokkaram national mosque after zohr prayers.
Then the body was taken to his village home at Debidwar on Saturday.
Earlier, Muzaffar Ahmed breathed his last around 8:00pm on Friday at Apollo Hospitals in the capital.
He was suffering from old age-related complications for long time and was admitted to the hospital a few days ago.
He was the adviser to the exiled Mujibnagar Government of Liberation War in 1971.
He was elected the member of the parliament in 1979. He was one of the key figures of leadership during the 1971 Liberation War.
His role in organising 20,000 freedom fighters to confront the Pakistani Army in 1971 in order to gain the independence of Bangladesh is unforgettable.
