Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has displaced Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan to become the No 1 all-rounder in ODIs.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently pulished the ranking where Shakib placed the first position in the ODIs as an all-rounder.
Shakib has now 359 ratings in ICC ODI all-rounder rankings. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is nearest to him with 339 ratings. Another Afghan cricketer, Mohammad Nabi, earned 319 ratings to stay just after Rashid khan in the ODI all-rounder ranking.
The Bangladesh’s premier all-rounder basically regained the top spot on the basis of his terrific performance with both bat and ball in the recently concluded tri-series in Ireland in which Bangladesh lifted the trophy in grand manner, beating West Indies by five wickets.
Shakib played three matches, scored 134 runs and took two wickets. His measly bowling in those matches stifled the opponents, creating the opportunity for other bowlers to pick up wickets at regular intervals. Shakib missed the tri nation final because of back spasm.
The 32-year-old left-handed made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Zimbabwe on August 6, 2006. Since then, he played 198 games where he scored 5717 runs and grabbed 249 wickets for Bangladesh.
