Now, Suborna Mustafa to become MP for reserved seats

Actress Suborna Mustafa has been nominated as Awami League’s MP for the reserved seats for women for the Eleventh Jatiya Sangsad.

Before that, she was honored for the country’s second-highest honor Ekushey Padak.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the names of 41 MPs for the reserved women seats from Ganobhaban at around 10:00 pm on Friday. Suborna Mustafa’s name was mentioned in the list.

Meanwhile, after receiving Ekushey Padak, the actress getting a warm welcome from colleagues. And after electing as MP, the extra surge has been added to her.

In the December 30 election, Awami League won 259 seats. After winning the absolute victory, the party formed the government with new enthusiasm.

According to the constitution, in order to fulfill 50 reserved women seats, Awami League will get 43 seats, Jatiya Party 4, BNP 1, other parties 1 (Workers’ Party) and independent candidates will get 1 reserved women seats as an alliance.

The Awami League started selling nomination forms to the nominees for reserved women seats on Jan 15. A total of 1,510 nomination papers were sold in four days. Many of the artists from the showbiz took the nomination forms.
