At least eleven people were killed and 30 others injured in separate road crashes in Faridpur on Saturday.
The accidents took place at the district’s Dhuldi area under sadar upazila and Talma of Nargarkanda upazila around 2:30pm.
Nur Alam, senior station officer of Faridpur Fire Service, said a bus fell into a ditch breaking bridge railing after hitting a motorbike at Dhuldi, leaving six dead on the spot and 30 injured. Of the injured, two succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, a bus ran over pedestrians at Talma as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two killed on the spot. Another named Abul Hossain succumbed after he was rushed to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital in critical state.
