Tarique, Fakhrul now sued for ‘threatening’ plaintiff

A case was filed against nine persons, including BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for allegedly threatening the plaintiff of several cases filed against the party’s top leaders.

AB Siddique, the president of Bangladesh Jononetri Parishad and also the plaintiff of several cases filed against BNP chief Khaleda Zia, her son Tarique Rahman and other senior leaders, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Sikder today.

In the case statement, AB Siddique alleged that the accused are threatening him in various ways as he had filed cases against Khaleda Zia and her party leaders.

“Recently, a letter threatening me with a dire consequence was sent to my house using the name of the ISIS. So, I came here to file a case against the BNP leaders,” he added.
