The general meeting of Jahangirnagar University Teachers’ Association (JUTA), reception of new arrival teachers and farewell ceremony of four teachers was held at JU.
On Thursday at 10 am, the program was held at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on the campus.
Departing teachers are- Professor Sotrajit Kumar Saha of Mathematics department, Professor Dr. Md. Taibul Hasan Khan of History department, Professor Dr. Kanchan Chowdhury of Statistics department and Professor Dr. Fahmina Ahmed of Philosophy department.
In the speech, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Farzana Islam said, “teachers are guiding the nation. So nation hopes that they will make students as ideal people. New teachers will find out new ways in education and research. They must be attentive to their activities so that students can respect them and follow them.
“Those who have officially left the university today, they will always be ours. Doors of the university always open for them. We will remember the contributions they made. I wish them a beautiful life”, she added.
President of Teachers Association of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Professor Dr. Rasheda Akhter presided over the function and the secretary of the Teachers Association Prof. Bashir Ahmed conducted the function.
Treasurer of the University Professor Sheikh Md. Manjurul Haque also attended the function among others.
