Awareness Workshop on Preventing Circulation of Counterfeit Currency The program began at 10:30 AM on Saturday (April 25) at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. The workshop was presided over by Lohagara Upazila UNO Shammi Kaisar. The chief guest was Md. Monjur Rahman, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank Khulna Office. Among others present were Monotosh Sarker, Deputy General Manager of Sonali Bank PLC Narail Principal Office; Md. Zahid Hasan, Senior Principal Officer (Manager) of Sonali Bank PLC Lohagara Bazar Branch; Md. Mizanur Rahman, Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank Khulna Office; former mayor Advocate Newaz Ahmed Thakur Nazrul; SM Hayatuzzaman, Acting Headmaster of Lohagara Government Pilot High School; and former panel mayor of Lohagara Paurashava, Raziya Sultana Beauty. Awareness Workshop on Preventing Circulation of Counterfeit Currency More than 200 participants concluding bank officials, public representatives, teachers, journalists, students, and customers attended the workshop. Speakers at the event emphasized that to identify counterfeit notes, one must first be familiar with genuine currency. By understanding the security features of authentic notes, fake currency can be easily detected. They also noted that dishonest groups attempt to destabilize the market by circulating counterfeit money, but collective awareness and vigilance can effectively prevent such activities. |
