A woman has died of dengue fever in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.

The deceased, Shumi Akter, 30, wife of Anwar Fakir of Kathalbari Ghat area in the upazila, died last night while being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

â€œShumi was undergoing treatment at Shibchar Upazila Health Complex. She was referred to DMCH for better treatment after her condition deteriorated last night,â€ said Md Abdul Mokaddes, family planning officer at the upazila health complex.

She died while being taken to DMCH, the official added.
