Former Awami League Leaders Regain Political Influence After Joining BNP in Munshiganj

Three individuals—Moinul Hasan, Kawsar Khan and Sohrab Hossein— and their associates with previous connections to the Awami League and its affiliated organizations reportedly joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) recently, as the country's political environment was undergoing major changes.

Before joining BNP, the three had held or maintained significant political positions in Awami League. Their previous political positions had given them substantial influence not only in Munshiganj but also all over the country.

After joining BNP, their political activities reportedly increased and they began rebuilding their local networks and influence.

Residents reportedly became concerned that their previous political networks, combined with their new affiliation with the governing party, had enabled them to regain considerable local power.

The allegations have been described locally as part of a broader concern about former ruling-party figures changing political affiliation and subsequently rebuilding their influence under the new governing party.
