Saif Powertec Ltd have donated a total of Tk 2 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country. Managing Director of SAIf Powertec Ltd Muhammad Ruhul Amin Tarafder handed over the check to Prime Minster principal secretary Ahmad Kaikaus.

The company's officers and employees has paid one day salary sum of Tk 65 lakh and the remainder is provided as a grant from the company's own financing.   Prime Minster principal secretary Ahmad Kaikaus received these grants On Wednesday (April 16th) at the Prime Minister's Office. At this the Prime minister Sheikh Hasina attended the donation handover ceremony through a video conference from Ganabhaban.

Meanwhile, Managing Director of Saif Powertec Ltd Muhammad Ruhul Amin Tarafder said, "We are providing food security to our Chittagong Port employees despite the Prime Minister's funding and will continue to do so until the current situation is resolved. We are also providing relief through public administration in remote areas of the country."

Government agencies that made the donations are Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Local Government Division, Rural Development and Co-operatives Division, Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Company Limited (DMRTCL). The educational institutes that gave contributions to the PM’s relief fund are Dhaka University, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University, and Shiddeshwari Girls’ High School. The private organizations that provided donations Uttara Group, Dhaka Club, BSRM Group, TexcoTech, Kashem Trust, Hamdard Foundation, Gaan Bangla, Xiaomi Technologies Bangladesh Pvt. Limited, Ispahani Tea Limited, Amin Mohammad Foundation, Olila Glass Industries Ltd, Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Bangladesh Jewellers Samity. Other organizations that gave donations are Bangladesh Foreign Service Association, BCS Taxation Association, Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IEDB), and EED Diploma Engineers Association.

Prime Minister thanked these individuals and organizations for coming forward with cooperation in Corona situation.

Earlier, several individuals and organizations donated to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to tackle the Coronavirus outbreak.
