DU Pro-VC Maksud Kamal tests Covid-19 positive

Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal has tested positive for coronavirus, one month after taking the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

Professor Maksud Kamal himself confirmed the matter on Friday.

He said, "I received a positive report yesterday. Since then I have been in quarantine at home. I took the vaccine, hopefully the damage will be less, the rest is God's will.

Earlier, Prof Maksud took the first vaccine shot on February 7.

When asked if anyone else in the family had contracted the virus, he said, "My family members contracted corona in October last year but I was healthy then."
