Pakistan Will Not Take Action Unless India Increases Tensions Further Rana Sanaullah, advisor to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has stated that Pakistan will not take any “irresponsible action” unless India further escalates tensions. He mentioned that following India's attack, both the ruling government and the army chief of Pakistan assured the international community of this commitment. Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the country's National Security Committee, Rana Sanaullah said, “We have given a suitable response to India. If they take further steps, we will respond strongly.” He added that under international law, Pakistan has the right to respond to India’s aggression and assured that Pakistan’s military leadership would react appropriately within legal boundaries. Rana Sanaullah, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said, “As guardians of national defense, our armed forces have this right, and there was a consensus on this issue during the National Security Committee meeting.” He continued, “The leadership of our armed forces, along with the government and the Prime Minister, promised the nation that if India chooses the path of aggression, we will respond firmly—and we have done so.” Meanwhile, India has warned that if Pakistan retaliates for the Indian military’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, it will respond again with equal force. According to a statement from the office of Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, he held discussions on Wednesday with his counterparts from the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Japan. During these talks, he said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ was a restrained, measured, and non-provocative military operation. The statement added that India has no intention to escalate violence. However, if Pakistan seeks to provoke further conflict, India is fully capable of mounting a strong counter-response. |
