Jamaat -e -Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said the army has a dignified contribution in the country. If the army is controversial, the independent country will be at great risk.

He made the call at the Shura session at the Central Majlis of Bangladesh Jamaat -e -Islami at Al Falah Auditorium in Magbazar in the capital on Saturday.

Jamaat Amir said, "We do not want our pride (the army) to be controversial through any activities or action." You should refrain from making any comments about the army.

Regarding the port of Chittagong, he said, a lot of Bangladesh depends on this port. About 5 percent of the main foreign trade depends on the port. Therefore, it would not be advisable to make any decision on any port management. Talking to the partners in thinking of the issues, what can be done about it should be brought to the fore.

Regarding the national elections, Jamaat Amir said, "We have accepted the timeline of the chief adviser to give the election." We are trying to help Jamaat -e -Islami from the beginning. Jamaat Amir urged other political parties and organizations to assist the interim government.
