Russian Military Helicopter 'MI-8' Crashes The Russian military helicopter was on a training flight when it went down in the Oryol region, approximately 368 kilometers (229 miles) southwest of Moscow. Oryol Governor Andrey Klychkov stated that emergency services are working at the crash site in the Uritsky district and that police are conducting an investigation. He assured that the incident poses no threat to local residents. He also urged the public not to share any photos or videos from the crash site. In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the helicopter crashed in a remote area and there were no casualties on the ground. However, none of the crew members survived. |
