July Declaration to be announced on 3 August: Nahid

July Declaration to be announced on 3 August: Nahid

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam on Sunday said they will announce the July Declaration on 3 August on behalf of students and people as the government has failed to do so.
He came up with the announcement at a press conference held at the party’s temporary office in Dhaka’s Banglamotor.
Commemorating the 2024 July Uprising anniversary, the NCP announced a month-long countrywide campaign titled "Desh Gorte July Padajatra (July March to Build the Nation)".
To hold the programmes, the party formed a committee with NCP leaders Sarjis Alam and Anik Roy as its convener and member secretary, respectively.

Alongside the July March and July Declaration, the party will also observe 16 July as Anti-Discrimination Martyrs' Day, and 5 August as People's Liberation Day.
At the press conference, Nahid said the July March will be held in all districts and this event will begin through offering prayers at the grave of martyr Abu Sayed on 1 July.
Coming down heavily on the interim government, the NCP convener said the government has repeatedly promised to issue the July Declaration but could not do so.
“As the government has failed in carrying out its responsibility, the July Declaration will be announced together with students and people, without depending on anyone else,” he added.
