Gold prices in the local market have gone up once again, with the rate of 22-carat gold rising by Tk1,050 per bhori.
From Wednesday, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk1,72,651 per bhori across the country.
The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) announced the revised rates in a press release on Tuesday night, attributing the hike to the increase in pure gold prices in the local market.
As per the new rates, 21-carat gold will cost Tk1,64,801 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will be sold at Tk1,41,263. The traditional gold price has been set at Tk1,16,850 per bhori.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. The price of 22-carat silver is Tk2,811 per bhori, 21-carat Tk2,683, 18-carat Tk2,298, and the traditional one’s rate is Tk1,726 per bhori.
