Towhid Afridi shielded by PM's office granting exemption in Munia case'
In a recent interview with content creator Tahmid Samin, Towhid Afridi discussed his acquittal in the ongoing Munia case, attributing his protection to the Prime Minister’s Office. Afridi, who had previously been implicated in a leaked call record scandal, claimed that despite public speculation and the viral leak of his communications, the PM Office had ensured his immunity.
Samin emphasized that Afridi’s rise would not have been possible without the backing of influential figures, including the DB chief and his father. "Towhid Afridi’s relationship with Munia is a fact, but his protection is equally clear," Samin said.
During the interview, Afridi dismissed the significance of the leaked call records, which suggested an affair with Munia. "These calls can’t trap me," Afridi insisted. "The Prime Minister’s Office is providing me shelter from all sides."
The call records surfaced following Munia’s tragic death in December 2023, but Afridi remained unfazed, citing his political allies. "Look at how much the Prime Minister’s Office values me," he added.
Samin also recalled a conversation with Afridi during a car ride on December 8, 2023, when Afridi openly acknowledged the relationship with Munia. However, despite the media frenzy surrounding the scandal, Afridi remained confident in his protection from top political figures, suggesting that no evidence would be enough to bring him down.
This interview highlighted the complex intersection of politics and public scandal, showing how the PM Office’s influence could play a crucial role in shielding figures from legal consequences.
