![]() Film inspires new generation to love country: FBCCI President This was stated by FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin on the occasion of the 11th day of the 16-day “ Bijoyer 50 Bochhor: Laal Shobujer Mohotshab” organized by FBCCI. The Saturday of the gala celebration, taking place at the Hatirjheel Amphitheater in the capital, focused on the Bangladesh film Industry. In his speech, he said that the filmmakers have been contributing to the society, culture and political context of Bangladesh. In the mid-1960s, film became one of the mediums of nationalist consciousness in this country. The contribution of the film in the people's uprising for the realization of democratic rights is undeniable. Realizing the importance of film, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman proposed to form Film Development Corporation-FDC in the East Pakistan Provincial Council on 3 April 1954. National Film Day has been observed on April 3 every year since 2012 to commemorate the day. Amir Hossain Amu MP, a member of the Bangladesh Awami League advisory council and former minister was present as the chief guest at the event on Saturday. He said in the 23-year history of Pakistan, Bengalis would not be given any job. If Bangladesh was not independent, Bengalis could not be businessmen. In order to prevent the development of Bengali nationalism, no film industry was allowed to develop in Bangladesh. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu, the Bengalis started a mass movement against the exploitation and deprivation of Pakistan. The country became independent through liberation war. Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu, Bangladesh is now moving forward on the path of rapid development. Due to the far-sighted rule of the Prime Minister, there is no more famine or food shortage in Bangladesh. At the end of the brief speech of the guests, pleasant cultural program is served. A folk music festival will be held on Sunday evening, the 12th day of the 16-day "Bijoyer 50 Bochhor: Laal Shobujer Mohotshab". Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Planning of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mr. M A Mannan, MP will be present as the Chief Guest.
