BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the party’s income in the past year (2024) was approximately Tk15.66 crore.
He disclosed the information on Sunday after submitting the party’s financial income and expenditure statement to EC Secretary Akhter Ahmed.
Rizvi said that in 2024, BNP’s total income amounted to Tk156,594,842, while its expenditure was Tk48,004,820.
In the previous year, 2023, BNP reported an income of Tk11,080,151 and an expenditure of Tk36,523,970.
In 2022, the party’s reported income was Tk59,204,632, and expenses were Tk38,833,803.
According to the Representation of the People Order (RPO), political parties must submit their income and expenditure statements to the Election Commission by 31 July each year for the preceding calendar year. The ordinance also stipulates that failure to submit such statements for three consecutive years may result in the cancellation of a party’s registration.
