FBCCI will provide one crore masks across the country

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the Top organization of businessmen-industrialists in Bangladesh, will distribute 2,000 oxygen cylinders, 200 high flow nasal cannulas and 200 oxygen concentrates with 1 crore face masks across the country. In addition, the organization has started setting up oxygen booths in front of various hospitals. 

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Thursday (July 15th) inaugurated a nationwide distribution of health protection and medical supplies organized by the FBCCI at the Federation Building at Motijheel. 

Salman F. Rahman, Adviser to the Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment, was online as a special guest at the event.  FBCCI President Jasim Uddin presided over the function. Senior Vice President of the organization Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, President of Dhaka Chamber Rizwan Rahman, President of Metropolitan Chamber Nihad Kabir, Former Vice President of FBCCI Monoara Hakim Ali, Acting President of BCI Preeti Chakraborty and others were there as speaker. 

Leaders of chambers and associations of 64 districts of the country were present on the occasion. Also present at the event was FBCCI vice-president MA Momen, Md. Amin Helali, Other directors including Md. Habib Ullah Dawn. Shami Kaiser, Director, FBCCI and President, E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh was present the occasion.   

Speaking on the occasion, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said it would take some more time to bring every person in the country under vaccination. During this time everyone will have to wear a mask, as well as vaccination activities will continue. The FBCCI will carry the message 'human for the human' through this program. People will be encouraged. Traders stand by the people today, and will continue to do so in the future. 

FBCCI President Jasim Uddin said, "Since we have not been able to get 100 per cent vaccination yet, there is no alternative to creating public awareness including wearing masks and following the hygiene rules." Corona infection will be greatly reduced if awareness is created among the people. We have noticed that there is a shortage of medical supplies in the hospitals. 'The FBCCI President expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for announcing a new incentive package of Tk 3,200 crore to help the low-income people of the country.
