![]() Jatiyo Hindu Mohajote urges govt to take legal action against Mahfuz Anam, his cohorts Hindu Mohajote and some others organisation of Hindu community came up with the demand at a press conference at Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters' Unity at 11 am. The press conference was organised to protest the conspiracy of some vested quarters to change the Hindu law. The organisations placed four specific demands to the government from the press conference. Advocate Pratibha Bakchi, Women's Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajot, read out the written statement. The demands are- 1. The government will have to make a clear announcement by August 30 that no reform and change will be made in Hindu law. 2. Legal action should be taken against Shaheen Anam, and some NGOs who are creating chaos in the Hindu society and family by conducting anti-social and anti-religious activities immediately. 3. Shaheen Anam and her other associates must have to apologize to the Hindu community. 4. If the government fails to make a clear announcement by August 30, Hindu community will organise mass signature campaign across the country. Demonstrations will be held at district and upazila levels and the offices of Manusher Jonno Foundation will be seized. If it does not work, strict programme will be announced. Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote (BJHM) President Advocate Bidhan Bihari Goswami, Vice-President Pradeep Kumar Pal, Secretary General Advocate Gavinda Chandra Pramanik, Joint Secretary General Sujan Dey, Advocate Lucky Bachar, International Affairs Secretary Naresh Chandra Haldar, Publication Secretary Sagarika Mandal, Organisation’s Dhaka Unit DK Somir , Secretary General of Bangladesh Matua Mahasangh Sagar Sadhu Tagore, Convener of Hindu Law Amendment Prevention Committee Advocate JK Pal, President of Hindu Samaj Sanskar Samiti Prof Hirendranath Biswas, Principal of Pranab Math Dhaka Swami Sangeetananda Maharaj, President of Brahman Sangsad Colonel Nirjan Bhattacharya , Secretary General Vijay Krishna Bhattacharya, among others were present in the press conference.
