DMP Commissioner received international award for contribution to literature

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman received the APJ Abdul Kalam International Award for his outstanding contribution to Bengali literature. KN Roy Niyati, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP confirmed this information on Tuesday (October 17). Recently APJ Abdul Kalam International Award ceremony was held at Sarat Sadan in Howrah. There, 15 meritorious personalities from different professions of 15 countries were awarded. One of them is DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman. According to DMP, recently one of his books has been published 'Thar, Bede Janagoshthir Vasha'. The book received critical acclaim. Popular among readers. The book has been praised by the critics as well as popular among the readers. In recognition of this outstanding book, he was awarded the International Prize. He could not reach Calcutta due to administrative engagements. Bangladesh's prominent social worker Somnath Dey accepted the award on his behalf. Former Vice President of Nepal Premananda Jha handed over the award to him. Two prominent ministers of West Bengal, Javed Khan and Arup Roy, were present on this grand occasion.
