|
He made these remarks while speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday evening. Regarding the phone conversation with Pakistan's Foreign Minister, the adviser said the call was made to inform Bangladesh about the recent developments and actions taken by Pakistan. "He did not ask for any assistance from me," Tawhid Hossain noted. "Bangladesh wants peace to be maintained. Measures should be taken to reduce tensions. Our expectation is that no incident should occur that could escalate the situation. We want any problem to be resolved through dialogue." When asked whether Dhaka would convey a message to Delhi, he replied, "If Delhi seeks Dhaka’s view, we will convey the same message. However, Dhaka will not take any initiative on its own. Since the call came from Islamabad, we made it clear that Bangladesh wants peace and does not want any conflict in the region." |
