New Gini Properties Attacked Again Over Land Dispute in ECB Chattar

New Gini Properties Ltd, located in the capital's ECB Chattar area, came under another attack on Saturday afternoon, allegedly by miscreants over a dispute concerning land ownership.

The incident took place at around 4:00pm, police said.

Cantonment Police Station Inspector Mohammad Arif said they received a report of the attack through the national emergency service number 999. He added that further details would be available later.

Mohammad Nazim Uddin Bhuiyan, chairman of the New Guinea Housing Project, confirmed the incident, alleging that a group of miscreants had illegally entered the property and launched another attack.

He said police arrived at the scene and were monitoring the situation.

"The same miscreants attacked the property again, vandalised part of it, harassed our staff and took away a phone," Nazim said, adding that the situation returned to normal after police intervention.

The latest attack follows a similar incident on September 26, when miscreants allegedly vandalised and looted the property.

During that incident, the studio of content creator Salman Muqtadir was also vandalised and looted. He later shared a video of the incident on social media, triggering widespread criticism.

Following the attack, New Gini Properties Director Saiful Islam Bhuiyan filed a case naming 13 people, including retired Major General Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhury, along with 150–200 unidentified individuals.

Police said the violence originated from a dispute over possession of the land.

So far, 11 people have been arrested for allegedly planning or participating in the attack. Eight of them have subsequently secured bail.
