Govt extends school closure to Feb 14

Govt extends school closure to Feb 14

The government has extended the closure of all educational institutions, except Qawmi madrasa, to February 14 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

M A Khair, information and public relations officer at the Ministry of Education, confirmed this on Friday.

The government had ordered all educational institutions to close on March 17 last year following an outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country.

Since then, the shutdown has been extended on several occasions, and most recently it has been extened until January 30.

The government, however, scrapped this year's HSC, JSC, PEC and respectively equivalent examinations to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

This year's annual examinations in the secondary level were also cancelled for the same reason.
