Ex-lawmaker Salahuddin denied bail, sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent former lawmaker of Dhaka-5 constituency and finance affairs secretary of BNP Salahuddin Ahmed to jail in a sabotage case.

Dhaka’s 7th Joint Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Aftabuzzaman today passed the order after rejecting his bail petition.

According to the case statement, a passenger-bus was set on fire and vandalized in front of the Mayor Hanif flyover’s Gulistan toll plaza on January 30 in 2015.

Later Wari police filed a case in the incident. Shahalam, Sub Inspector of Wari Police Station submitted a charge sheet against 34 including Salahuddin to the court on 12 in 2015.
