Govt pushing country towards 1/11 like situation: Inqilab Manch

Inqilab Manch has accused the interim government of deliberately pushing the country towards another infamous 1/11 like situation by keeping the administration inactive amid the massive deterioration of the law and order situation.
Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Manch, made the allegation while addressing a press conference held at Dhaka University’s Madhur Canteen on Saturday.
Expressing his grave concern over the government’s inaction following the brutal killing of a businessman by Juba Dal activists in broad daylight in Chawkbazar, he said that the silence of the government seems it wants another one-eleven in the country.
“Advisor Asif Mahmud himself admitted that we have returned to the Prastar Age. That wasn’t a metaphor, it’s the grim reality. The administration has failed to take any meaningful steps to restore law and order or reform the police,” he said.

The July Revolution fighters have consistently been demanding reform of the police for the past year, but it has not heeded to it, he said.
The spokesperson also launched a scathing attack on the role of mainstream media.
“A man was publicly stoned to death in the capital, but the media reported it after three days. Every media outlet knew the matter, but they stayed silent, why,” he claimed.
Hadi alleged that many media houses are strategically avoiding criticism of BNP, considering that the party is returning to power in the next general election.

“They backed the Awami League before its fall, now they are doing the same for the BNP. It’s not journalism,” he added.
