Moving forward with honesty to unlock country’s true potential: Tarique
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has underscored the need to uphold honesty and courage, shunning the path of the politics of revenge to move the country forward and unlock its true potential.
He made the remarks while virtually addressing a programme marking the International Youth Day held at the China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka on Tuesday.
It is an awareness day designated by the United Nations that takes place across the world on 12 August.
Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal jointly organised the discussion titled 'Future Bangladesh: Expectations of Youth Society and BNP's Plans.'
Claiming that there is no alternative but to be equipped with technology-based skills to ensure a proud partnership in the global community, he said that his party belongs to a principle of doing politics to ensure the development of the people's livelihoods.
“Our future politics will focus on creating large-scale employment and ensuring a safe working environment for the people,” the BNP leader said, adding that from now on, his party’s main goal is to transform the youth into technology-based skilled manpower.
The BNP leader said this is why he presented his party’s sector-wise plans and they are now preparing strategies to ensure the implementation of the plans.
Calling upon the country’s youths to present BNP’s pro-people plans to all the people, he said, “If the countrymen give BNP a chance to govern the state, Inshallah, we will gradually implement these plans in the days ahead.”
He also sought votes for Sheaf of Paddy (electoral symbol of BNP) from the country’s people from all walks of life in the upcoming general election, likely to be held before Ramadan to be observed in February next year.
