Salahuddin Quader's death sentence was written in Law Ministry: Hummam
Late BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury's son Hummam Quader Chowdhury has alleged that his father’s death sentence was written in the Law Ministry, not in the tribunal.
He made this allegation at a press conference at SK Chowdhury's residence in Dhanmondi in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Hummam said, “Sheikh Hasina's goal was to remove her opponents. Salauddin Quader Chowdhury was the victim of her anger. Hasina's goal was to survive by disappearing, murdering, and killing.”
Four people from abroad wanted to come to testify in favor of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, but the Foreign Ministry conspired to prevent them from coming to the country, Hummam Quader Chowdhury said.
He also said that his family will send a legal notice to the Foreign Ministry in this regard next Sunday.
Hummam Quader Chowdhury further said, “Muneeb Arjamand Khan, Amber Harun Saigal, Ishaq Khan Khakwani and Riaz Ahmed Noon—these four were our father’s classmates at Punjab University in 1971. They were eyewitnesses. If they had been allowed to enter Bangladesh and could have testified, they could have proven my father innocent.”
Stating that despite multiple appeals to the tribunal and the Supreme Court, they were not allowed to enter the country, he said, “We even tried our last best to bring them until the moment our father was killed.”
Calling for mob justice not to be done to those who testified against Salahuddin Quader, Hummam Kader Chowdhury said, “There was an incident in Cox’s Bazar where a person who testified against my father was beaten up. This should not be done again. They are also citizens of Bangladesh; they also have the right to live.”
