Zalmi chairman thanks BCB for clearing Rana for PSL final

Peshawar Zalmi chairman Javed Afridi has thanked Bangladesh’s cricket authorities for allowing fast bowler Nahid Rana to feature in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, despite being rested ahead of next month’s Test series against Pakistan.

Afridi, in a social media post on Tuesday, expressed gratitude to Tamim Iqbal, head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s ad-hoc committee, for granting permission for Rana’s participation in the May 3 final.

Rana had earlier played four matches for Zalmi in the tournament, taking seven wickets at an economy rate of 5.42, before returning to Bangladesh for the ODI series against New Zealand.

He had been rested as part of workload management ahead of the Pakistan Tests, but Zalmi formally approached the BCB seeking his availability for the final, a request that was subsequently approved.
