BCB Appoints New Fielding Coach The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed fielding specialist Jonty Pamment as the new fielding coach of the national team. He is set to join the team ahead of the upcoming series against Zimbabwe later this month. BCB has signed a contract with Pamment that will run through to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup. He previously served as an assistant coach for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, with his primary responsibility being fielding. Born in England, the 56-year-old coach played first-class cricket in Auckland, New Zealand. He also served as head coach of the Northern Districts Cricket Association for five years. In addition, Pamment has worked as a technical advisor for New Zealand’s High Performance unit, the ‘A’ team, and the Under-19 squad.Speaking about joining the Bangladesh coaching staff, Pamment said, “I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented Bangladesh team. I'm looking forward to meeting the players and coaching staff ahead of the Zimbabwe series.” Previously, Nick Pothas held the position of fielding coach for Bangladesh. The former South African batter also served as the team’s assistant coach, though his primary role was overseeing fielding. |
