Foreign Secretary-Level Talks Between Bangladesh and Pakistan Begin Bangladesh is being represented by Foreign Secretary Md. Masud Bin Momen, while Pakistan is being represented by its Foreign Secretary, Amna Baloch. Amna Baloch arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday to participate in the talks. After nearly a decade and a half of stalled bilateral relations, Pakistan has taken the initiative to move things forward. Bangladesh, too, is interested in normalizing ties through cooperation in various sectors, including trade, commerce, and defense. As part of this effort, the foreign secretary-level talks are being held in Dhaka today after 15 years. According to diplomatic analysts, this sixth foreign secretary-level meeting in Dhaka—after a nearly 15-year hiatus—could pave the way for normalizing and advancing bilateral relations. However, for the relationship to progress sustainably, both countries need to set clear objectives and prepare accordingly. |
