Shahe Alam Murad, an executive member of the Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League and former General Secretary of the Dhaka South unit of the Awami League, has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

He was arrested this Thursday morning from the Uttara area. The information was confirmed by DMP's Joint Commissioner of the Detective Branch, Rabiul Hossain Bhuiyan.

Rabiul Hossain told People’s time  that multiple cases have been filed against Shahe Alam.

On August 5, the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power through a student-led mass uprising. Since then, many Awami League leaders and activists have gone into hiding both within the country and abroad. Multiple cases have been filed against them.
