The overall environment centring the DUCSU and DU hall union polls is festive and participatory, said General Secretary Candidate Abu Baker Majumder, emphasizing the need for retaining the present democratic atmosphere in the long run.
Speaking to reporters at Curzon Hall, he praised the enthusiasm among student voters. “The students’ verdict would be final, and every candidate must acknowledge that there is no scope to reject it.”
Abu Baker Majumder is contesting the polls from the “Anti-Discrimination Student Council” panel backed by Gonotantrik Chhatra Sangsad, a group linked to last year’s front-row uprising leaders.
Abu Baker himself was one of the central figures in the anti-fascist uprising, an identity that bolsters his winning chances.
