Nepal's parliament set on fire after PM resigns
Nepali protesters storm and set fire to the parliament building in the country's capital Kathmandu after prime minister KP Sharma Oli’s resignation on Tuesday.
“Hundreds have breached the parliament area and torched the main building,” Ekram Giri, spokesman for the Parliament Secretariat said.
Young people are taking to the streets, fuelled by anger over corruption and "nepo kids" - here's what this all means.
Demonstrators also chased down finance minister Bishnu Prasad on street.
A video surfaced on social media in which finance minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel was chased on a road and thrashed by demonstrators.
In the video, over two dozen people were seen chasing while Paudel was running for his life. A man was seen kicking and others beating him up.
At least two people died in today's unrest after 19 were killed on Monday.
Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned in the face of massive anti-government protests. Oli stepped down shortly after hundreds of agitators entered his office shouting slogans demanding his resignation for the death of at least 19 people in police action during the protests on Monday.
