Independent vice-president candidate Shamim Hossain in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election has alleged that efforts are being made to reduce his votes through tagging and propaganda on various social media platforms and some media outlets.
After casting his vote at the university’s Senate Building center, Shamim Hossain made this allegation to reporters around 10:15 am on Tuesday.
Shamim said that several identified media outlets and social media platforms have deliberately tagged him, attempting to lower his vote count through this propaganda.
However, he added that students are aware and will not make mistakes in choosing their candidates.
Shamim also noted that the voting environment remains positive. “If this environment continues, we will accept the results, whatever they may be,” he said.
