10 lakh yaba pills seized in Teknaf, Two Arrested However, family members and supporters of the arrested suspect, Nur Mohammad, claimed that he was implicated in the case as part of a conspiracy driven by political and personal interests. The operation was conducted around 7:00 PM on Tuesday near the Sabrang Union Parishad area. According to RAB sources, they received confidential information that a drug trafficking syndicate was preparing to transport a large consignment of yaba to Dhaka using a truck loaded with salt. Acting on the tip-off, a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Nuruzzaman, Company Commander of RAB-15 Teknaf CPC-1, and Assistant Superintendent of Police Sohel Rana conducted the raid. During the operation, a truck was detained. While unloading the salt, RAB members recovered two sacks hidden inside the cargo. In the presence of hundreds of local residents, the sacks were opened and found to contain 100,000 yaba tablets. The truck used in the trafficking operation, along with 100 maunds of salt, was seized. Two alleged drug traffickers were arrested. They were identified as, Md. Emranul Islam (20), son of Ahmad Safa, from Banshkhali, Chattogram Nur Mohammad (42), son of Rahmat Ullah, from Sabrang, Teknaf. Meanwhile, in a separate operation conducted at around 1:05 AM on May 14, 2026, another team from RAB-15 CPC camp raided the Almachia East Gate area under Eidgaon Police Station. During the operation, two alleged robbers were arrested red-handed while reportedly preparing for a robbery in front of Swapnochura Market. RAB recovered one locally made single-barrel gun and five rounds of live ammunition from their possession. The arrested individuals were identified as, Md. Enamul Haque alias Enam (23), son of late Abdul Nabi Md. Nurul Afsar Ripon alias Afsar (40), son of Nur Ahmad.Both are residents of Kalirchhara area under Eidgaon Police Station. RAB officials said separate cases under the Narcotics Control Act and Arms Act are being filed against the detainees, and the process of handing them over to the respective police stations is underway. RAB-15 held a press briefing regarding the incidents on Thursday afternoon.
