![]() The Editors forum need to play a role in preventing anti–national conspiracies and propaganda : Information Minister He assured the leaders of the editors forum about the payment of arrears of advertisement bill and fair distribution of supplements. He delivered the speech at a meeting with leaders of the Bangladesh Editors Forum at the minister's official residence in the capital on Friday (February 4th ). Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Forum, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Observer and Rafiqul Islam Ratan, convener of the Editorial Forum, Advisory-Editor of the Daily Vorer Pata and other members were present on the occasion. Regarding the meeting with the convening committee of the Editors Forum, the Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that the Editors Forum is a big forum of many popular newspapers. The distribution of advertisements and supplements should not be limited to a few newspapers in this time of various adversities of the Covid epidemic and they have highlighted the issues of getting their bills easily in various Ministries and Departments. Information and Broadcasting Minister in response to questions from journalists at the end of the meeting. Hasan Mahmud said that although the workers expressed relief over the recovery of BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia, the leaders were disappointed to think that the recovery of Begum Zia had poured water on their movement. He said this when asked about BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi's remark that "Khaleda Zia is still ill and needs to be taken abroad for treatment". He said, "The BNP leaders are disappointed to return Begum Zia home as she has recovered. Doctors say he has recovered a lot and that his problems are due to aging, including arthritis. Asked if any doctor ever sends a critically ill patient home, the minister said, "Mr. Rizvi is talking among frustration. On the other hand, the BNP workers wanted Begum Zia to recover and return home. They are expressing relief, but the leaders are not relieved. Dr. Hasan said, "Bangladesh has come a long way today, but those who don’t like this development-progress, they are exposing various conspiracies against the country and misinformation to foreigners to hinder the overall development including the country's export trade." The editors forum will continue play a role in thwarting these conspiracies, keeping the spirit of the liberation war high and not to confuse the people with propaganda.
