Big Wins for Mohammedan and Abahani, Shinepukur Falls in Gulshan

Mohammedan secured a commanding 74-run victory over Agrani Bank in the Dhaka Premier League. Abahani’s win was even more dominant, as the table-toppers thrashed Prime Bank by a massive margin of 133 runs. Meanwhile, in another match, newcomer Gulshan Cricket Club edged past Shinepukur by 5 runs, despite scoring only 178 runs.

At BKSP’s Ground 4, Abahani batted first and posted 290 runs for 9 wickets against Prime Bank. Opener Parvez Hossain Emon scored 79 off 71 balls, smashing six fours and five sixes. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, batting at No. 3, contributed 58 off 70 balls, while Mosaddek Hossain added 37 from 42 balls in the lower middle order.

In reply, Prime Bank were bowled out for 157 in 32 overs. Their in-form opener Naim Sheikh scored 73 off 74 balls, hitting nine fours and a six. Batting at No. 7, Shamim Hossain Patwari added 40 runs off 26 balls with three fours and four sixes. The bowling duo of right-arm spinner Mosaddek Hossain and left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan caused the collapse—Mosaddek took 3 wickets for 29 runs in 7 overs, and Rakib took 2 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs.

At BKSP Ground 3, Mohammedan, batting first, scored 287 for 7 against Agrani Bank. Opener Rony Talukdar made 46 runs, and No. 3 batsman Mahidul Ankon scored 64. Captain Towhid Hridoy added 42, while Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored with a solid 75.

In reply, Agrani Bank’s Amit Hasan scored a brilliant century—105 runs off 123 balls with seven fours and a six. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to support him, and the team was all out for 213 in 47.2 overs. Ebadot Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz each took three wickets, while Nasum Ahmed and Taijul Islam claimed two apiece.

At Mirpur Stadium, U-19 Asia Cup winner Azizul Hakim Tamim’s Gulshan Cricket Club were bowled out for 178 in 41 overs. Jawad Abrar scored 37, Sakib Shahriar 38, and Farhad Reza added 22. In response, Shinepukur were dismissed for 173 in 43 overs. Nahid Uzzaman and Azizul Hakim Tamim took three wickets each.

With this win, Gulshan Cricket Club, led by Azizul Hakim Tamim, climbed to third place on the points table.
