![]() Order to Freeze Tk 160 Crore Belonging to Sheikh Hasina's Family On Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The information was confirmed by ACC's public relations officer, Akhtarul Islam. According to court sources, ACC Deputy Director Monirul Islam submitted the petition seeking to freeze the bank accounts. The petition stated that Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, younger sister Rehana Siddique, and individuals linked to their interests were attempting to transfer, relocate, or dispose of movable assets in their accounts. To ensure a proper investigation, it was deemed necessary to immediately freeze these accounts. On March 11, the court ordered the freezing of 124 bank accounts belonging to Sheikh Hasina, Joy, Putul, Rehana Siddique, and others associated with them. The court also ordered the seizure of additional assets registered in the names of family members, including Sheikh Hasina’s residence, Sudhasadan, in Dhanmondi. At the same time, a travel ban was imposed on seven members of Sheikh Hasina’s family, including Hasina herself. Earlier, on March 18, the court ordered the freezing of 31 bank accounts belonging to Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Joy, Putul, and individuals associated with their interests.
