The Chinese Commerce Minister, along with 200 investors, will visit Bangladesh next month. Meanwhile, DP World Group from the United Arab Emirates is interested in setting up a Free Trade Zone near Matarbari in Bangladesh, as informed by the Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Ashik Chowdhury.He shared this information at a press conference on Wednesday (April 9), following the third day of the investment conference, where he briefed the media on the overall activities. Ashik Chowdhury mentioned that the government is planning to bring foreign investors for the defense industry, who will not only provide technical cooperation but also engage in full production. For this, a separate military economic zone could be designated for them, he suggested. He added that an investment agreement worth $150 million has already been signed with China's Honda company, and a similar agreement has been made with the ILO. On the third day of the investment conference, a separate exhibition was held for young entrepreneurs, featuring 30 companies. The entrepreneurs showcased innovative products in various sectors, including textiles, education, agricultural equipment, food products, and artificial intelligence.
